A note on kinetic sculpture
LIFE SPAN
As an artist who produces kinetic sculpture I accept that no mechanism will work flawlessly or forever.
The pieces I build all incorporate a time out feature allowing the piece to lie dormant when no one is present, which all so vastly expands the potential life span of the piece.
When I produce a kinetic sculpture I do so in the hope that it will be visually strong enough that it will stand on its own whether its mechanics function or not.
INTERACTIVE
In the case of my marble pieces there is no guarantee that a marble won't occasionally jump the track. This is just the piece saying "FETCH!"
